Catalina is a beautiful island of white sand near the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic. It is a protected natural park where, of course, there are no buildings at all. Unknown to many travel agents and tourists so it’s not very crowded; the beach is completely safe from the wind, thus, the sea is always in absolute calm.

This amazing little island despite its small size, which does not reach 10 square miles, a mile of beach to harbor tourists who seek only fun in the sun. Perfect water temperature for all water sports, all the colors of the tropical world, and a sublime isolation with the environment.

One of the best diving sites in the Dominican Republic is the spectacular Wall. From the beach, a gentle slope leads to the impressive wall that drops over 100 meters deep. The wall is a real oasis of coral trim and fauna, a platform of thousands of square meters less than 3 meters deep on average, ideal for lung scuba diving, possibly the best place in the Caribbean for this activity.

The excursion starts in comfortable buses with air conditioning to Altos de Chavon, also known as the City of Artists, medieval Mediterranean city of extraordinary beauty and an amphitheater which has paraded stars like Frank Sinatra, Carlos Santana, Sting and Luis Miguel.Then the group will descend the stairs to reach the Chavon River, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Dominican Republic with majestic scenery.

You will then board a comfortable boat for departure to the Minitas Casa de Campo beach.From there you will continue your journey to Catalina Island, the hidden treasure in the Caribbean; your arrival will have a welcome drink and the guide will explain the historical and geographical meaning of Catalina Island and its natural environment.

Later the necessary equipment is provided for snorkeling and you will go to the Wall, one of the most beautiful diving sites in the country, to discover beautiful fish species of tropical colors, and coral reefs.

Around 1:00 pm the group will enjoy a delicious meal in a special area with all amenities. The meal should consist of lobsters (1 lb per person), meat and BBQ chicken; potatoes, green salads and grilled vegetables; rice and white Moor; local drinks such as water, soft drinks, beer, Cuba Libre, also the famous coffee and Dominican Rum.

After this meal,l it’s nice to relax lying on a chaise long in the beautiful white sanded beaches and crystalline waters in Catalina Island. For those who wish to continue the activities there is a merengue and bachata dance floor in a prepared area.If you are lucky, you’ll see some specimens of the only reserve of raccoons in the country. Around 4:00 pm the group will return to shore, this time to visit the Club House and Fisheries of the Central Romana.
